We charge based on the time it takes to process your pile. If you stack your green waste correctly, we can feed it into the chipper incredibly fast—which means a significantly cheaper quote for you! Here are our top tips for preparing your pile:
Stack your branches with all the cut ends (the thickest part) facing toward where we will park the chipper (usually the driveway or street).
Don’t throw branches into a tangled heap. Lay them flat and parallel so we can easily pull them out one by one without fighting the pile.
Please do not use an excavator to push your pile together, as this scoops up dirt and rocks. Even a small rock or hidden piece of wire can instantly destroy our expensive chipper blades! (Note: If we find rocks or soil in the pile, we cannot chip it).
Build your pile as close to the driveway or road as possible so we can back our truck directly up to it.
Every pile is different, which is why we provide free, fixed-price quotes based on your photos. When we assess your green waste, we look at three main factors:
We estimate the volume based on cubic metres. A small, neatly stacked pile of wattle takes minutes; a massive, tangled mountain of cypress takes significantly more time and manpower.
If we can back our truck directly up to your neatly stacked pile on the driveway, the job is cheap and fast. If we have to manually drag branches from a steep backyard up to the road, it takes more time.
This is your biggest money-saver. If you want us to shoot the chipped mulch straight into a pile on your property for your garden, we avoid all tip fees, and we pass those disposal savings straight to you!

No, our chippers are designed strictly for woody branches and tree foliage. Soft green waste like grass clippings, vines, agapanthus, or wet leaves will just clog up the machine.
We can, but a tangled “bird’s nest” takes significantly more time and manpower to pull apart safely, which increases the cost of your quote. Neatly stacking the branches with the cut ends facing the driveway is the best way to save money!
Not at all. As long as the pile is accessible in your front yard or driveway, we can rock up, process the pile, clean the area, and email you the invoice while you are at work.
Chipping is priced on the size of the pile and how long it takes to feed it through the machine, not by the trailer load. A neat, stacked pile with the butt ends facing the same way goes through fast and costs less. A tangled heap with soil, wire and fence palings mixed in takes far longer. Send us a photo of the pile with something in shot for scale and we will give you a fixed price before we come out.
Bigger than you would think. Our chipper eats branches up to around 150 mm, and the truck takes the chip away as we go, so we are not limited by trailer space. Whole-garden clean-ups, a full season of prunings, or the aftermath of a big storm are all normal days for us. If the pile is genuinely enormous we may book two crew or two runs, and we will tell you that when we quote.

Yes, and it is one of the most common calls we get through winter. If limbs have come down across a driveway, a fence or a paddock, we will cut them up, chip everything that fits and take away what does not. If the tree they came off is now damaged or unstable, we will assess that at the same time so you are not paying for two visits.
The chipper is towed behind the truck, so we need about three metres of clear width and reasonable overhead clearance to get it near the pile. Where that is not possible we park on the street or in the driveway and carry the material out, which takes a bit longer but is very doable. If access is tight, mention it when you enquire and send a photo of the entrance so we can plan for it.
